We have 3 dynamic speakers with updates on the Housing Crisis, Downtown Santa Barbara & what's happening in the Community Development Department.
1. George Buell, Community Development Director for the City of Santa Barbara, will give an overview of the many policies and programs that are now under development or revision by the Community Development Department.
2. Nina Johnson, Senior Assistant to the City Administrator, will provide an update on the City's recent efforts in revitalizing downtown. Nina has recently organized community events like the State Street Experiment Weekend and Downtown Innovation Workshop. The outcome of these events, next steps in downtown revitalization, and possible roles for the design community will be covered.
3. Deborah L. Schwartz, Planning Commissioner for City of Santa Barbara,will address the Three Dimensions of the California Housing Crisis: Inventory Shortage, Homelessness, Climate Change
